Green teas

Green tea is made exclusively from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. After picking, the tea leaves are left to wither slightly and are then briefly roasted at 100 ℃ or treated with hot steam, rolled, crushed, and dried.

One of the most classic flavored green teas is jasmine green tea, though it is also flavored with Japanese cherry, vanilla, lemon, coconut, and others.

Green tea is increasingly praised for its health benefits. However, it is still best known for its invigorating effect due to its caffeine content — though the caffeine in green tea is released and absorbed differently than in coffee. While the caffeine in coffee enters the body quickly and almost completely, caffeine from green tea is released gradually, resulting in a more balanced, steady, and long-lasting stimulating effect.

Preparation:
Use one teaspoon of tea per cup. You can pour boiling water over it, but ideally, green tea should be prepared with water that has been boiled and then cooled to 70–80 ℃. Strain after two to three minutes. The same tea leaves can be steeped again, this time with boiling water. Strain after three to five minutes. This process can be repeated as long as the tea still has flavor.
