Chamomile is one of the most popular herbs in the world, available in various forms. It is mostly consumed as herbal tea.

The history of chamomile begins in ancient Egypt, where it was first mentioned as a remedy for fever, often called “ague”. Crushed flowers were used for cosmetic purposes and as a main ingredient for preserving the oil used to embalm fallen pharaohs.

The word “chamomile” comes from ancient Greece and means “earth apple”. Pliny the Elder mentions the similarity between the scent of chamomile and apple blossom.

The Romans used chamomile to flavor drinks and incense, and as a medicinal plant. In the Middle Ages, chamomile was used to flavor beer.

For centuries, people around the world have used it as a remedy for many physical and mental illnesses.

It is used in aromatherapy to relieve insomnia and headaches. Chamomile tea is a very rich source of antioxidants. In the cosmetic industry, it is used for the aging process and alleviates visible signs of aging (wrinkles and loss of skin elasticity).

Erilo chamomile is organically grown in a geographically protected area where the use of fertilizers, sprays or motor vehicles is not allowed within a 50 km radius. We use exclusively selected flowers to prepare the tea.

Chamomile tea has a sweet aroma and a mild, pleasant fruity taste. The addition of honey creates a floral aftertaste.

The healing effects of real teas and herbs have been known in traditional medicine for millennia. Unfortunately, the European Parliament has adopted Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006, which prohibits health claims on food, therefore we leave it to each individual to obtain information on the healing effects of Chamomile organic tea.
